Our Customers

Most tape suppliers sell the same thing: a roll, a width, a price. What actually separates a supplier worth building a long-term account with is whether they can specify tape to your product and your brand, not just quote a stock size. This page sets out, specifically and checkably, what Carewell Group does differently on water activated and custom tape, so you can judge it against any other supplier on the same terms.

What to actually check when comparing tape suppliers

  • Can they customise length and width to your carton size and dispenser, or only sell fixed stock rolls?
  • Can they print, and how many colours? Single-colour stamping is common; full multi-colour print capability is not.
  • Do they hold Australian stock with a stated dispatch time, or is every order a production run?
  • What is the minimum order quantity for a custom or printed run, and is it quoted to your actual volume?
  • Are quality and environmental claims certified, or just asserted?

Run any supplier, including Carewell, through this list before committing to an account.

How Carewell Group answers each of these

Length, width and roll specification

Carewell specifies water activated tape width, length and core size to match your actual dispenser and carton range, rather than pushing a single stock size regardless of fit. The right width and roll length changes both sealing speed and cost per carton, covered in detail in the water activated tape sizing guide.

Custom print, up to 10 colours

Carewell prints water activated tape in up to ten colours, which covers full brand palettes rather than a single logo colour, on both natural and white kraft stock. See branded water activated tape for how the seal becomes a brand touchpoint, and designing printed tape that prints clean for what actually works on kraft.

Grade range matched to the job

Standard kraft, reinforced fibreglass-filament grades for heavy or stacked cartons, and biodegradable recycled reinforced options are all specified to carton weight and freight lane, not sold as one generic grade for every order. See the full grade comparison.

Real stock, real dispatch times

Carewell holds Australian stock on core tape widths and grades, with a stated dispatch time, so a standard reorder does not sit behind a production queue the way a fully custom order does.

Certified, not just claimed

Carewell Group is certified to ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management), ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental Management) and ISO 45001:2018 (Occupational Health and Safety), and is a member of the Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation. See certifications and standards for the detail, rather than taking a claim at face value.

Why water activated tape outperforms plastic tape, specifically

This is a materials point, not a brand claim: water activated tape bonds into the carton’s own fibres as it dries, and a correctly applied seal shows fibre tear when tested, the board tears before the tape lets go. A light pass of plastic tape sits on the surface and does not achieve that bond. It also recycles with the carton, no removal step, unlike plastic tape which contaminates a recycling load if left on. See how water activated tape works for the full explanation.

Cost, compared properly

A cheaper tape that requires two or three passes to seal a carton, or that fails and causes a damage claim, costs more once labour and returns are counted, not less. The comparison worth running is total cost per sealed, surviving carton, not price per roll. Carewell will run this comparison against your current tape on request rather than just quoting a cheaper roll price.

What a specification conversation actually looks like

Rather than starting with a price list, a proper tape specification starts with questions: what does the carton weigh when packed, what freight lanes does it travel, how many colours does the brand use, and how many cartons does the operation pack in a day. Those answers determine grade (standard or reinforced), width and roll length, and whether custom print is worth the minimum order it requires. A supplier that skips straight to a price without asking any of this is quoting a generic product, not specifying tape for your operation.

Industries this matters most for

  • Ecommerce and direct-to-consumer brands, where the tape seal is one of the few branding touchpoints a customer physically sees.
  • Food and beverage, where seal reliability through cold-chain and stacked pallet handling affects damage rates directly.
  • Industrial and export shippers, where reinforced grades and a documented seal specification matter for damage claims.
  • High-volume fulfilment operations, where dispenser speed and one-pass sealing affect labour cost across every parcel packed in a shift.

Sample before you commit

Any tape claim, ours or a competitor’s, is worth testing on your own cartons before it drives a production order. Request sample rolls in the grade and width you are considering, seal a batch of your actual cartons at your actual packed weight, and check for fibre tear once dry. This takes an afternoon and removes the guesswork from a decision that affects every parcel you ship afterward.

Frequently asked questions

What makes Carewell’s tape different from a generic supplier?
Specification to your actual carton size and dispenser, custom print in up to ten colours, a grade range matched to carton weight, Australian stock with a stated dispatch time, and certified quality and environmental systems rather than unverified claims.

How many colours can Carewell print on water activated tape?
Up to ten colours, on natural or white kraft stock, covering full brand palettes rather than a single logo colour.

Is water activated tape actually stronger than plastic tape?
A correctly applied water activated seal bonds into the carton board and shows fibre tear when tested, the board fails before the tape does. Plastic tape sits on the surface and does not achieve that bond.

What should I check before choosing any tape supplier, not just Carewell?
Customisation of length and width, print colour capability, stock availability and dispatch time, minimum order quantity quoted to your actual volume, and whether quality claims are backed by real certification.
